A Team Fortress 2 map created for my university dissertation. This map was created on a strict deadline (three months), and comes with an 11,000 word report, detailing the planning, iteration and testing processes.
The idea behind my dissertation was to analyse and evaluation existing Valve maps (specifically, the attack and defend game mode) in Team Fortress 2. I would then use this knowledge gained to create my own map, and test and iterate it until it was perfected. I explored the full pipeline of creating a multiplayer level, which included research, planning, blocking out, testing, art-pass, light-pass and publishing.
This map ended up seeing ten iterations in its three months developmental time frame, all of which was documented in the report. The map has also been entered into the TF2Maps.net (A)Symmetrical Control Point contest.
I received the equivalent of a first (the highest grade available) for the project. You can view the report here.
